COMBAT WARS
COMBAT WARS is a pixel-art real-time strategy game about taking ground.
If you grew up on Advance Wars, you will feel at home — but this one plays
in real time, on your phone, in about four minutes a stage.
Capture bases to heal and gain lives, then push for the enemy HQ before the
timer runs out. The enemy starts out roaming, almost careless. Then the board
tips, a warning cuts across the screen, and they come at you all at once.
— WHAT YOU GET —
7 unit types. Cheap Bazookas you can field in numbers. Hawkeye, who outranges
almost everything. Shinobi, fast enough to be somewhere else by the time they
aim. Kongo, who simply does not die. You bring a squad within a cost limit, and
your next unit deploys when the current one falls.
5 commanders. Each has a passive that is always on, plus two specials on a
shared gauge. Elina heals while she holds ground. Kilfy hits harder and moves
faster. Yozakura throws shuriken at two enemies at once and summons shadow
clones. Who you bring changes how you play.
16 stages across 4 worlds. Hand-designed, not generated. They start gentle and
stop being gentle.
Serious Mode. The moment the enemy stops roaming and commits. You will know.
Online leaderboards. Clear all 4 stages of a world in one run and your total
time is recorded. There is a score board too.
— HOW TO PLAY —
Move with the pad at the bottom of the screen. You fire automatically when an
enemy enters your range. Stand on a building to capture it — but you cannot
attack while capturing, so pick your moment. Take the two cities beside the
enemy HQ before you go for the HQ itself.
When it goes badly, that is what the special button is for.
Free. Plays in the browser. Only the leaderboard needs a connection.
